As a life long resident of the Town of Colonie, and as someone with a long history of community involvement, I am asking for your vote of support to be the next County Legislator in the 24th District.

WHY?

The safety of your children, the well being of our seniors, the livability of our neighborhoods and the taxes we pay for infrastructure and services are all-important matters that I wish to address as a member of the County Legislature.

Our neighborhoods are changing and our residents need a watchdog to ensure that inevitable change does not impact negatively on our community and our lives. I want to be that watchdog. I believe it’s about people, not politics!

That is why I am running to represent you.

MY PROMISE TO YOU!

As your County Legislator I will:
  • Vote to keep Albany County taxes low.
  • Advocate for a quality long-term care system for our seniors.
  • Fight for infrastructure upgrades that improve public safety.
  • Work for environmentally conscious smart growth in our community.
  • Conduct neighborhood meetings on issues that are important to you.
  • Bring new employment opportunities to empty properties.
  • Serve the part-time job of County Legislator with full-time dedication.

HOW FOR EXAMPLE?

Traffic along our streets is ever increasing. We must look for means to improve pedestrian safety through better lighting, sidewalks, signage and pavement markings. I will also advocate for bike lanes where they currently do not exist.

When older buildings are left empty they become an eyesore devaluing our properties. They can also become a hazard to our emergency services personnel. I will work with the Office of Economic Development and the owners to seek new uses for these properties before they become dangerous problems and help bring employment opportunities to the area.

I will work closely with the Office of Aging to ensure that our seniors receive all the assistance they need and to which they are entitled.

I will sponsor bicycle safety days for children to learn how to ride safely and wear their bike helmets. These events can be fun for families as well as instructive.

To meet these objectives I will request appointment to the Public Works; Conservation and Improvement; Public Safety; Social Services, and Health Committees of the legislature. As a member of the legislative majority I will be better positioned to achieve these objectives than my opponent.

Therefore, I respectfully ask for your support on November 6th.
